Red Dead Redemption, also known as the best cowboy game ever, period. This game has earned high praise from the gaming culture and exceeds all expectations that anyone could have possibly put on it. Granted it does have a story that will last plenty of hours; although, the main joy of the game comes from venturing across the frontier: hunting, robbing, and stealing. Of course this makes this title a mature rating and should be treated as such. Kids should have, in my opinion, a restraining order from this game. The wild west may have been a rough and tough place but it was also a arid wasteland deprived of morals and law.
Anyways, I found the game play to be magnificent, and the characters to be the embodiment of the west itself. The controls will require some familiarizing but shouldn't prove any trouble to an avid gamer. The environment is rich and will engulf any player, a friend told me once,"I went into Redemption's wilderness and didn't go back to town for 7 hours. I hunted, skinned and robbed all the time and made myself rich! Of course I lost it all soon after when the sheriff and his deputies proceeded to put bullets in my back and head.". In conclusion, this game is definitely worth buying. The download able content isn't half bad either.
