Fable 3

Fable 3, the third installment in the series. Now, I liked this game and mom went as far as buying it but there are things that everyone should know that you will most likely disagree with. First, the game play, actions are smooth and the fighting is very well made in a lot of areas. Sometimes in fights though, the enemy might be in a different spot than where they should be and you could end up executing air. This is a major deal; Fable 2 AND 3 have a load of glitches that it seems like Lionhead just seems to ignore in the development process. They need to take better care when checking thoroughly in a game otherwise this will happen every single time. Secondly, the animations for characters seem to have a problem (on occasions) with just doing their job; be it entering battle or delivering a spoken opinion.

Next, graphics, they're still nice and sharp but I liked the dark shades they added, just wish that they would have gone further into a darker world. The way it was described and the way it is seen are two completely different things. They said a darker, more industrial Bowerstone while I went to their darkest, dirtiest streets and it seemed more like 18th century London...

The story, oh the story... Listen, this story is strong and has a large amount of depth but I found that the emotional attachments to characters to be severely lacking. The characters are nicely done (Simon Pegg did a really nice job as well) but I just think that the way in which the events and characters were portrayed was lacking somewhat. For example, when you finally meet the rebellion you would expect them to be everywhere, hiding, planning, and devising operations to sabotage parts of the kings industrial war machine. What you find though, is a small group of armed rebels in a small sewer system that plan on being recognized in their actions and hope to inspire the broken people. Besides that, there is another major part I found to be one of the largest let-downs about the game, the king experience... Seriously, you becomes king at a certain point but all you mainly do is make simple morality decisions and that is all. I was expecting to host events, go to war in the deserts against the main evil on a gigantic field of battle, create my own...everything, so on and so forth. But instead you win the final battle and they just launch you into the freeplay part. Also, the story is epic short compared to the last two games, as in you can win the entire game in less than 12 hours (if only on story mode).

Also, the weapon evolutionary cycle your hero weapons is pointless, just buy something strong from one of the shops or something, the hero weapons are as good as junk. They look cool but they provide no beneficial effects. I wanted to see the only weapons be an assortment of many different types of hero weapons (swords, axes, spears, rifles, handguns, etc.) and just allow the player to evolve those weapons based on how they use them in battle, not to mention a final upgrade for when you get the rest and win the game (something that's insane or awesome).

Overall, this game is very good but failed epic expectations.
7.3/10
P.S.: Lionhead, on your next game, please try making sure you get rid of all the glitches, please!
